We are so fortunate for the positive feedback and the sense of community Broomball Central has been able to create in such a short amount of time. Our Ambassadors have been able to build some incredible relationships with companies which will continue to help grow the sport and educate the public. We can’t even begin to explain how gracious we are to see such great successes thus far. Recently, a startup league in Cleveland asked for equipment donations in the forums provided on the Broomball Central website. Not only has their new league felt the support of the Broomball Central community, their request has been graciously met with the donation of equipment. This, my friends, is what it’s all about.
It will, however, also have its hurdles. Last week we announced news that LiveBarn would be streaming the National Broomball Tournament from the Schwan’s Super Rink in Blaine. However, within the last day we have been informed that this rock-solid, good to-go confirmation from LiveBarn has changed. We are not sure of what happened in the last week but, unfortunately, this is no longer an option and has dropped off completely. This is a huge disappointment in what we were hoping to accomplish at Nationals and promise to continue working toward solutions for consistent live coverage.
As far as 2018 Nationals go, there is still hope; but we need your help! Broomball Central is fueled by the broomball community and this is your chance to be a part of it. Due to the recent LiveBarn news, we have reverted back to our original plan. We are looking for individuals who are willing to participate as Broomball Central LIVE contributors. This would include having access to our Broomball Central LIVE Facebook page and streaming live game footage from your phone or tablet to the Broomball Central LIVE page. Our goal is to provide ways for fans across the country, and world, to watch their favorite teams play in one centralized place. On the upside, this solution also provides a backlog of games, allowing them to be viewed AFTER Nationals, unlike LiveBarn. If you have camcorders, bring them! If contributing live doesn’t appeal to you, but you’d like to contribute to our Broomball Central YouTube channel please bring your camcorder and email us game footage! We will do the editing and posting for you! If you have a nice photography camera and want to take photos, bring it! After the tournament you can email us photos and we will do the editing and posting for you!
Although we are all bummed about LiveBarn, we can see this as a chance for the community to work together, build the sport, and give distant fans a way to “be in the game.”
If you’d like to participate as a LIVE contributor, please email [email protected] by Thursday, April 12th @ 10pm. This will give us time to get you added and set up for Friday’s games! If you would like to contribute by taking video footage for our youtube channel or submitting photos, please send files to [email protected] and we will take care of the rest!
Thank you all for the love and support thus far. Let’s continue to push forward and grow the sport we all love!
