The Northeast Shootout is a premier broomball tournament held in Massena NY. Massena is located right on the Canadian border, equidistant to Montreal and Ottawa. Last year the field included teams from NJ, Ottawa, Syracuse, Toronto, Massena. The Ottawa Nationals are the defending champions but are unable to commit to this years field due to a scheduling conflict. They defeated the NJ Saints in the finals last year by a score of 1-0.
The tournament is on the heels of a successful Can-Am Tournament in Syracuse, where I was able to make come great contacts and gain commitments from various teams who have yet to be here, or have not been in a few years.
The cost of the tournament is $375 if paid by February 8th or $400 anytime after that. There is a 3 game guarantee. The first two games seed the teams and there will be A and B division Champions. We have an excellent facility in Massena, with a host hotel within walking distance, a local bar outside the back door of the rink and officials from Ottawa, Montreal and Massena ready to work the games. Local restaurant, Morley’s American Grill, committed to $10 Game MVP Gift cards for ALL POOL PLAY GAMES. Also, a hardest shot competition will be held.
The one rink facility is only able to accept 16 teams, and allow for good scheduling to get players back on the road at a decent time on Sunday. If you have any logistical questions, I am able to help in any way needed as well.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or register your team. We also can help individuals that may be able to make the trip but don’t have a full commitment from their local club team to come this year.
